 Barack Obama’s stimulus package was supposed to save and create American jobs. But nearly six months after President Obama signed the $787 billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act into law most of the economic news remains grim. According to the Labor Department, the unemployment rate shot up to 9.5 percent in June with 467,000 jobs lost – the worst numbers in 26 years. So what’s happening? How come the infusion of hundreds of billions of dollars of public investment are failing to jump start our economy?
