Obama Appointed Chinese Woman Lawyer into White House

NEW YORK President-elect Obama appointed Chinese American lawyer Christina Tchen White House Director of Public Liaison, The China Press reports, making Tchen the second Chinese American going to Obama's White House following Chris Lu, Obamas cabinet Secretary. Tchen said shes very exited and honored to accept the appointment and hopes to bring more communication between the White House and public organizations. She has been devoted to community service and was one of the top fundraisers of the Obama campaign. A prominent lawyer based in Chicago,under the influence of her mother, Tchen started volunteering in the Chinese community about eight years ago. Tchens parents immigrated to the United States from Shanghai in 1949.
