Fewest Illegal Immigrants Arrested in 36 Years

World Journal, News Report, Posted: Jun 20, 2009

NEW YORK – Recent statistics from the federal Department of Homeland Security indicate that 724,000 undocumented immigrants were arrested along U.S. borders last year, the lowest number in 36 years. According to the World Journal, the department said the low number is a reflection of the economic recession and stricter border control. Of the 724,000 people arrested, 97 percent were detained at the U.S.–Mexico border and 61,773, or 91.4 percent, were Mexicans. Chinese migrants were the ninth largest group on the list, with 836 arrested.

Wow Maria! I am usually oblivious towards a person's mental incapacity-- but his sentences are actually entertaining for a regular Tuesday's topic conversation during a smoker's break. People like Doug really do exist out there.

Wow Doug! I know Mexicans that can spell better than you. Learn your own language buddy. Well... thanks to my parents that crossed the border illegally 29 years ago, I was born and raised in the US. I joined the military, graduated college, and thank god... can spell better than you. There's enough US for everyone. Let's not be so greedy.
