Password for NAM Ethnic Media Directory

Posted: Sep 26, 2012

Dear City Clerk:

The Institute for Local Government (ILG) in March invited your city to take advantage of a roster of ethnic media from New America Media (NAM).We would just like to remind you that this resource is available to you at no charge, and to encourage you to use it in order to identify local ethnic media in your city and county. The National Online Directory of Ethnic Media is a listing of print, online, radio, and television ethnic media outlets that can be helpful when placing public notices, advertising job listings and encouraging more diverse public engagement.
With a small grant from the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, ILG has paid for a subscription to this Online Directory of Ethnic Media for cities in San Mateo and Santa Clara counties. Given the diverse population in these counties this directory can be a useful tool for local officials to more effectively communicate with their residents.
This Directory provides information on media organizations that serve ethnic audiences, and provides a custom search feature that allows you to create your own search for media by city, state, language, ethnicity, and media type.
Below is your username (email address) password to gain access to the online directory. You may make this password available to appropriate public officials and staff in your city.
Founded in 1996, New America Media is the country's first and largest national collaboration and advocate of ethnic news organizations. For more information, visit http://newamericamedia.org/

As you may know, the Institute for Local Government is the nonprofit research and education affiliate of the League of California Cities and the California State Association of Counties.
