Iranian President Congratulates Obama

Persian Journal, news report, Posted: Nov 11, 2008

NEW YORK In an unprecedented letter, an Iranian president has congratulated an American president-elect, reports the Persian Journal.

In a letter to Barack Obama, Mahoud Ahmadinejad said the election showed that the American people were opposed to Bush administration policies. Ahmadinejad expects that Obama will change policies concerning Israel, the nuclear issues in Iran, and the Iranian support for Hezbollah. Obama and Ahmadinejad have much in common. Both earned advanced degrees, had scant political experience before running for president and promised to fight to redistribute wealth to the working men and women.
