Chinese Boycott French Products Over Tibet

World Journal, Posted: Dec 09, 2008

BEIJING Another wave of anti-French sentiment has started in China. The World Journal reports that the Chinese public is enraged that French President Nicolas Sarkozy met with the Dalai Lama in Poland despite China's opposition to the Tibetan leader. They initiated the second boycott against French products this year. By Sunday, 1.2 million people had signed a petition to boycott French products. Some French businesses reported Chinese protesters outside their doors.
