Palestinian-American Journalist to Seek Presidency in Palestine

Aramica, Posted: Dec 15, 2009

CHICAGO--Leading Palestinian American journalist and comedian Ray Hanania has announced that he will run for president of Palestine, reports Aramica.

While Hanania does not expect to win, explains the news report, partly because he resides in Chicago, he hopes that his efforts will help draw attention to his ideas for peace in the region. According to the news report, Hananias multi-step "Yalla peace plan, includes creating a sovereign Palestinian state next to Israel, and a Settler-Refugee Exchange program, in which among other things, Israel would keep the settlements while giving Palestine equal land mass in exchange, serve as a basis for re-starting real peace negotiations and establishing trust. His full plan can be found on yallapeace.blogspot.com
