Indian Woman and Son Contract Swine Flu after Returning from U.S.

Times of India/India Times, Posted: Jun 02, 2009

NEW DELHI -- An Indian woman and her five year old son who returned from the United States on May 28 to India have tested positive for swine flu infection, reports The Times of India. Her daughter tested negative, but has also been placed in quarantine at an isolation facility in the city of Coimbatore. Sources said the woman had gone to visit her husband in Boston.

India last month had reported its first case of H1N1 flu in a student who had travelled to Hyderabad from New York via Dubai. The Indian authorities are now trying to track down all the 55 passengers who flew on a domestic flight from Chennai to Coimbatore with the affected mother and son.
