Burglars Target Asian-American Homes

Sing Tao Daily, news, Posted: Aug 10, 2009

OAKLAND, Calif.,-- Traditional Asian artworks and worship items, which symbolize good luck, are turning into bad luck for Asian-American families in Oakland because they are attracting burglars. According to Sing Tao Daily, Asian-American homes are being targeted because burglars believe Asians tend to keep valuables at home. To resolve the problem, Oakland Chinatown police officer Alan Yu advises Asian families to stop displaying ethnically identifiable items outside their residences.
