Mayor of Managua Dies in Apparent Suicide

MANAGUA, Nicaragua -- The Mayor of Nicaragua's capital, Managua, was found dead today at his residence in an apparent suicide, according to Salvadorian newspaper La Prensa. A three-times boxing world champion, Alexis Argello was 57 years old. The country has now declared three official mourning days. Argello was described by one Nicaraguan official as the "champion of the poor and the champion of solidarity."
