North Korean Executed For Using Cell Phone

A North Korean was executed for disclosing the countrys rice market price to a friend in South Korea using a Chinese cell phone. According to Sing Tao Daily, the incident was reported in a radio broadcast from Liberal North Korea, stationed in South Korea. It reported that Zheng, a worker at a military factory located in Hamhung city in North Korea, was recently executed by shooting in public. By the end of January, Zheng was found by the nations security enforcement with a China manufactured cell phone at home. It was told Zheng used that cell phone to call up his friend in South Korea, a North Korean defector, during his business trip to China.

North Korea prohibits residents from engaging in any foreign telecommunications, and violators aretreated as traitors or political prisoners.
