Time to End the Blockade

Al Da, Posted: Jan 08, 2009

PHILADELPHIA -- The 50th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution is a reminder that the U.S.-imposed 46-year-old blockade against the island has not worked, writes Philadelphia's Al Da newspaper in an editorial. The blockade was based on politicking and has not hindered the flow of U.S. products into Cuba. The newspaper calls on incoming President Barack Obama to end the "absurd" commercial and financial embargo that Washington imposed half a century ago.
