World Journal, Posted: Jan 27, 2009

WASHINGTON -- President Obama congratulated all people who celebrate the Lunar New Year Monday, in his first greeting after his inauguration. The World Journal reports that Obama greeted people in Asia, the United States and across the world who celebrated the Lunar New Year, saying that these celebrations across the United States enrich U.S. culture. The World Journal says Obama, who has an Asian American sister, an Asian Canadian brother-in-law, and Asian American staffers Chris Lu and Parag Mehta, influenced him to deliver his greetings.
