Spanish-Language Rumbo Newspaper Consolidates

Rumbo, Posted: Oct 16, 2008

HOUSTON -- The Spanish-language newspaper Rumbo recently announced its decision to suspend print operations in San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley. The company, which was purchased in 2007 by the national Latino media network Impremedia, attributes the decision to the weakening economy. However, Rumbo will still carry local content for those areas online. Erich Linker, Impremedia's vice president of sales, says that Rumbo plans on focusing its resources in the Houston market and expects to double its circulation there.
