ICE Targets Chinese Operated Coaches

World Journal, Posted: Feb 08, 2010

NEW YORKRumors about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeting Chinese-operated coaches in New York, New Jersey and Georgia, are spreading within New Yorks Chinese community and among immigration attorneys, according to World Journal. People in the coach and transportation business said they have heard about a coach stopped by ICE in Buffalo while it was on its way to New York City. ICE agents boarded the coach with their computers and checked every passenger on their immigration status. Three undocumented Chinese immigrants were arrested on the scene. Even though ICE spokesperson Luis Martinez denied such rumors and restated that ICE would only operate targeted enforcement once reports are received, sources said relatives of those arrested are reaching out to attorneys.
