Arizona Dreamers Ask GOP to Drop Tough Rhetoric on Immigration

Undocumented youth delivered approximately 8,000 petitions to the Arizona Republican Party headquarters in Phoenix yesterday, urging Republican candidates to change their rhetoric on immigration.

Members of the Arizona Dream Act Coalition collected the signatures online and in the streets of Phoenix over the weekend.

“We want to make sure the candidates know Latinos are listening to what they’re saying,” Erika Andiola, an organizer for the group, said.

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney, the current front-runner in the race, has said along the campaign that he would veto the DREAM Act if elected.
