ORLANDO -- Eighty-six Latino families in Orlando who sought to modify their home mortgages through the company Wineberg, Lopez & Rodriguez are now claiming to be victims of fraud, reports La Prensa. The company is one of 46 Florida businesses under investigation by the Florida Attorney General for mortgage and loan fraud. "There are a lot of Hispanics who were affected," attorney Mercedes León of the León Law Center in Kissimmee, Fla. told La Prensa. "They trusted these people." Florida homeowners can access the list of companies under investigation and file claims against fraudulent companies online at www.myfloridalegal.com/mortgagefraud or by calling 1-866-966-7226.
