Thousands Celebrate Asian Heritage Month

NEW YORK Thousands of New York City residents celebrated Asian American Heriitage Month May 3. The event was sponsored by the Coalition of Asian Pacific Americans, the World Journal reports. About a hundred Asian American organizations set up booths for food. Cultural presentations by Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Indian, Vietnamese and other Asian groups entertained the crowds. A representative from New York City Councilor John Lius office urged the gathering to get politically involved.
