Family Fight: Callers Weigh in on Vallejo School Beating

Street Soldiers Radio , Audio, Produced by Malcolm Marshall Posted: Jan 30, 2009

Editor's Note: On Jan. 15th, 17-year-old Bryant Lee was assaulted by several people outside of Jesse Bethel High in Vallejo, Calif., around 4:30 p.m. The violent beating was caught on school security cameras but, due to budget cuts, after-school security is non-existent, and plans are underway to cut school-time security as well. Callers to Street Soldiers weighed in on the incident, both defending the accused and calling for stronger security measures in and around schools. Street Soldiers is an Omega Boys Club sponsored, solutions oriented, weekly call-in show for youth, that focuses on the issues of violence, gangs, drugs, teen pregnancy and other topics which need attention in the community.
