Stores in Shanghai Subway Ordered Closed

World Journal, Posted: Aug 06, 2008

SHANGHAI Shopkeepers in Shanghais subway stations reminded customers to stock up on telephone cards and cell phone recharge cards, following orders from the government that all shops in the subway must remain closed for a month as a precaution against terrorism during the Games, the World Journal reports. The government will pay the months rent, but wont cover business losses. Shops in subway stations are the main source of telephone cards and cell phone recharge cards for tourists.
