NAM Hosts Briefing on Affordable Care Act

On Wednesday February 22nd, 16 ethnic media members gathered to hear healthcare advocates, practitioners, and a small business owner speak about the status of the Affordable Care Act at a briefing hosted by New America Media and The California Endowment.

Anthony Wright, Executive Director of Health Access, gave an overview of the ACA and its impact on Californians while Mike Odeh, Associate at Children Now spoke about how California residents are failing to take advantage of available children's health programs. Adrian Nunez, Senior Manager, Community Relations & Healthy Kids Program at San Francisco Health Plan, spoke about health plans specifically in San Francisco.

Luisa Buada, Chief Executive Officer of the Ravenswood Family Health Center, discussed Ravenswood's efforts to comply with the ACA and Virginia Donohue, Camp Director at PetCamp touched on how small businesses are being hurt by skyrocketing premiums.
