La Prensa, news, Posted: Aug 20, 2009

CARACAS, Venezuela (EFE)- Professional journalism organizations protested recently against attacks on members who peacefully demonstrated against a new law that they say will limit freedom of the press, reports La Prensa. The journalists gathered at the office of the attorney general to protest assaults against 12 journalists who were themselves protesting article 50 of a new education law. The protestes say that supporters of the government were behind the attacks.
