NAM has developed a number of special workshops and panel discussions from covering diversity to immigration issues for both students and working ethnic media journalists. NAM has helped CSUN-Department of Journalism with its launch of a Center of Ethnic and Alternative Media (CSUN-CEAM) in February of 2008. NAM and CSUN-CEAM are also developing an oral history of ethnic media in Los Angeles and a special Ethnic Elder Conference in October of 2008. Internship between CSUN journalism students and ethnic media in Los Angeles is an ongoing arrangement through NAM since 2002.
