Obama Smoothes Over Debate on Chinese Currency

World Journal, Posted: Jan 29, 2009

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama called Chinese President Hu Jintao last weekend to discuss the recent debate between the two countries about whether China has been manipulating its currency exchange rate. The World Journal reports that Obama's phone conversation was an attempt to make up for his Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithners recent accusation about China. Obama promised that his administration would work together with China.
