Iran Wedge Issue for Jewish Voters

The Jewish Daily Forward, Posted: Sep 03, 2008

DENVER - As the Democratic convention ended, what to do about Iran's
drive for nuclear weapons has become an important campaign issue for
Jewish voters, reports the Jewish Daily Forward. Democratic presidential
candidate Barack Obama has favored engagement with Iran then
"tightening the screws diplomatically with Iran" and applying
sanctions with dispatch. Meanwhile Republican presidential
candidate John McCain has run TV ads alleging that Obama does not get
it and quoting a May 18 speech in Oregon, in which Obama said Iran "doesn't pose a serious threat." The Democrats claim that quote was taken out of context.
