SF Mayor Accused of Hurting City's Sanctuary Status

El Mensajero, Posted: Jan 02, 2009

SAN FRANCISCO -- Immigrant rights groups protested outside San Francisco's City Hall on the International Day of Migrants, reports El Mensajero. Demonstrators accused Mayor Gavin Newsom of undermining the city's role in protecting immigrant families and human rights. They attributed the mayor's shift in policy to his reported ambition to run for governor.
