USCIS Arrested More Than 1,000 Immigrants in California

LOS ANGELES The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) arrested 1,157 illegal immigrants in a three-week action in California. Among the arrested, The World Journal reports, 420 were caught in southern California. Most of the illegal immigrants will be deported while some of them will be put into US jails. Spokeswoman for USCIS Virginia Kice said the ethnic group breakdown of those arrested is not available yet. Its estimated that currently there are 560,000 undocumented immigrants in the United States, 34,000 less than last year.
