Chinese House Hunters Arrive in LA

World Journal, news, Posted: Mar 01, 2009

BEIJING The first group of Chinese real estate investors, which arrived in Los
Angeles this week, drew huge media attention. However, the World Journal reports the group members are not top magnates of China. The group is supposed to have 40 members, but only 21 arrived. And, they hold tourist visas, not business visas. Some media suspect the group cames for sightseeing instead of investing. David Fang, director of the California Chamber of Commerce Foundation, said its just a beginning point for Chinese investors to learn about the U.S. real estate market. He believes more investor groups will come.
