A reminder that NAM and the Brennan Center's voter suppression teleconference is TODAY, Tuesday, July 31st at 2 pm EST. In addition to State Senator Vincent Hughes, Penda Hair, Co-Director of the Advancement Project will be on the call. The Advancement Project is one of the plaintiffs who filed the lawsuit on behalf of ten Pennsylvania voters and three prominent advocacy organizations, alleging that the state's voter photo ID law violates the Pennsylvania Constitution by depriving citizens of their most fundamental constitutional right - the right to vote.

Additionally, one of the clients in the Pennsylvania voter ID lawsuit, Ana Gonzalez, will be speaking. Gonzalez, a resident of Philadelphia, was born in Puerto Rico and adopted in a non-traditional way, so she does not have access to her birth certificate. Here is her testimony: http://www.aclupa.org/downloads/Transcript72512.pdf

Pennsylvania State Senator Vincent Hughes will speak about the latest developments in the current legal battle in Pennsylvania against the voter ID law, and Keesha Gaskins from the Brennan Center will be discussing the struggles that many voters will face when trying to obtain voter IDs.
