Aired live on COMCAST Hometown Network-CHN 104's show, "Upside," award-winning author Andrew Lam, author of Perfume Dreams shares his perspectives of the Vietnamese-American influence in the San Francisco Bay Area and America in his newest book: East Eats West: Writing in Two Hemispheres. New America Now Anchor Odette Keeley spoke to Lam during a recent storytelling and potluck event, Feast of Words at SOMArts Cultural Center in San Franciscos South of Market district. Lam reflects on this month's theme: "Home Away from Home" through his personal essay from the book. Entitled 'Ph(o)netics: the Diaspora of a Beef Soup', the reading provided inspiration for featured foodie, graffEats Guerilla Dining, providing a unique take on the globe-trotting pho soup.
