Ming Pao Daily

HONG KONG A five-magnitude earthquake hit Yunnan Province in southwest China Thursday. The Ming Pao Daily reports that nine aftershocks followed the earthquake. The government has relocated over 1,200 people out of the Yingjiang County, where the epicenter was. Over 1,700 households and more than 8,500 people have been affected by the earthquake, though so far, there is no information of people being killed or hurt. The Yingjing County is located on the border of China and Burma and ethnic communities make up about 60 percent of its population.
