The press should be ashamed of not mentioning the race of the girl or her atackers.

This not just a sexual hate crime it is a racial hate crime and all of the 20 attackers should be prosecuted for violations of the various state and Federal civil rights laws.

The administration at the school should be fired and the school should be closed.

rape is a hate crime against women on Nov 07, 2009 at 09:29:32 said:

Rape is a hate crime against women. The girl was raped because she is female. Her attackers were male. Rape is a heterosexual problem that reflects the attitude and hate that heterosexual men have against women. Rape is the result of gender inequality and a society that lets men do whatever they want with very few consequences- straight people usually blame rape victims for the violence perpetrated on them by straight men, because of their own internalized sexism and misogyny. That is why so many straight women blamed the girl in this case- they continue to defend "their men" even when it does not serve them. In order for justice to prevail, all women must stand together and defend the rights of rape victims while holding men responsible for their violent actions. The whole school and all of the students' families need training on understanding sexual violence.
