Second Spanish Priest Killed in Cuba

HAVANA - A Spanish priest was found dead in his room in Regla, a town outside Havana, making him the second Spanish priest to be killed in Cuba this year, reports EFE. Early reports indicate the priest, 74-year-old Mariano Arroyo Murillo, was was murdered. According to the Cuban Commission of Human Rights and National Reconciliation, a group not recognized by the Cuban government, the priest's body had several stab wounds, burns and his hands were tied. Another Spanish priest, 61-year-old Eduardo de la Fuente Serrano, was killed outside Havana in February. There are an estimated 340 Catholic priests in Cuba, half of them foreigners, and about 600 nuns.
