Mexico Hijacking Inspired by 'Divine Revelation'

El Universal, Posted: Sep 09, 2009

MEXICO CITY -- A man identifying himself as a Bolivian pastor used a fake bomb to hijack an AeroMexico airplane from Cancun as it landed in Mexico City on Wednesday. Police stormed the airplane and arrested the suspect. The passengers and crew were released unharmed. Mexican Public Security Secretary Genaro Garcia Luna identified the hijacker as Jos Marc Flores Pereira, or Josmar Flores, an alleged drug addict and alcoholic who had served time in jail in Santa Cruz, Bolivia for armed robbery. During the hijacking, he forced the pilot to circle Mexico City seven times before landing, and demanded to talk to Mexican President Felipe Calderon to warn him of an impending earthquake, Garcia Luna told reporters. Flores claimed that he had had a divine revelation that made him hijack the plane on Sept. 9, 2009. He said the date was special because 9,9,9, was the inverse of the satanic number 6,6,6.
