NEW YORK -- Spanish-language publishing company ImpreMedia announced plans to introduce hyperlocal coverage through partnerships with community blogs, reports El Diario/La Prensa. The company will establish electronic journalism labs in their New York and Los Angeles newsrooms to help local bloggers cover the community. John Paton, Chairman and CEO of ImpreMedia, explained that selected blogs will participate in four weeks of orientation in the labs and will also receive training in sales. ImpreMedia executive editor Alberto Vourvoulias-Bush said working with freelancers and blog sites will ensure that Latino neighborhoods in the United States will have a strong voice in the new world of journalism.
