Sing Tao Daily, Posted: Feb 19, 2009

SAN JOSE -- The San Jose Main Post Office on Lundy Avenue yesterday was renamed in honor of Gordon Chan, a respected Chinese-American community leader who died of a sudden heart attack in 2001, Sing Tao Daily reports. Besides being known for his chrysanthemum and rose nursery business, Chan also was the founder of the Bay Area Chrysanthemum Association, the executive director of the Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI), and a member of county planning commission. He devoted a great amount of time to helping Asian Americans in the area.
